WHY THE HEAT

The heat increases blood circulation and assists the body to release toxins, and to increase the heart rate for a deep cardiovascular workout. The heat protects the muscles increasing flexibility to allow for a deeper stretch.

It further speeds up the breakdown of glucose and fatty acids, accelerating the fat burning effects of the yoga. It enables you to work up a sweat more quickly, clean pores and create healthier, younger looking skin along with a beautiful radiant yoga glow.

You may find that the heat is a challenge at first, but it will quickly get easier, so stick with it and enjoy the benefits as so many millions do around the world!

Who can practice Bikram Yoga

Relax, you are going to absolutely love the benefits which are about to come. As with any new experience, it may indeed be challenging. If it weren’t, then it wouldn’t have its powerful and beautiful transformational capability!

Bikram Yoga does not discriminate, it can be practiced by all age groups young and old regardless of your fitness level. It is a beginners style yoga easy for anyone to undertake.

INFORMATION FOR BEGINNERS

Clothes

Wear lightweight clothing as it is hot and humid.

Nutrition

It is important not to eat anything 2-3 hours before class. 

Inside class 

No phones, wallets, jewelry, chewing gum, shoes, soda (water only).

Silence

Before, during and after classes absolute silence is required inside the room. 

Be punctual

Arrive 20 minutes early to be able to prepare for class.

Once the session has begun, late students will NOT be accepted.

Stay in the room 

It is important not to leave the room.

You may take as many breaks as you require during the 90-minute class. 

Hydration

It is recommended to drink a lot of water. During a class you can lose between 1 and 2 litres of water. You may be dehydrated during class so be sure to drink plenty of water before and after class. 

What to bring

Water, Two large towels (one for the yoga room and one to dry off) Yoga mats are available at the studio or to purchase. Towels and water may also be purchased/rented at the yoga studio.
